Job Description
The Legal Counsel involves managing a variety of legal matters, providing strategic advice, and representing the company in various legal proceedings. The Associate Counsel will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of litigation, including the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Manage case calendars and deadlines, ensuring timely responses to court orders and other legal requirements.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and trials, presenting the company’s position effectively.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies, utilizing various legal databases and resources.
- Stay updated on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations that may impact ongoing litigation or the company’s operations.
- Analyze case facts and legal issues to provide strategic recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to develop and implement effective case strategies, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, identifying potential legal risks associated with business operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all litigation activities, including case files, correspondence, and court documents.
- Prepare detailed reports for management, summarizing case status, potential risks, and recommended actions.
- Work closely with other members of the Legal Division, as well as cross-functional teams, to address legal issues that arise in various business contexts.
- Compliance with eTap's safety, security, and information security protocols.
- Perform other job-related functions or duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must hold a license to practice law.
Professional Experience
- At least 3 years' Experience in handling cases: Labor, Corporate, Civil, and Intellectual Property preferably focus on civil and criminal cases
- At least 4 years litigation experience is preferred
