About the role
To guarantee on-time deliveries at the lowest cost, provide professional logistics support to the Austal Philippines business by optimizing modes of transport, selecting suppliers, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyse areas of corporate Logistics to find the most cost-effective means or optimizing method of transporting the materials targeting the ideal schedule.
- Knowledgeable in Customs Modernization and Tariff Act. of the Philippines implemented by the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
- Knowledgeable in Rules and Regulations implements of the Republic Act No. 7916 or known as “The Special Economic Zone Act of 1995”, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
- Ensure compliance to Bureau of Customs (BOC), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and MARINA.
- Ensure that all Logistics activities are PEZA approved (such as filing Import permit, Export documents, 8105, 8106, 8112 etc.).
- Planning and monitoring the arrival, delivery and unloading of the shipments to ensure that shipments to avoid unnecessary charges such as storage, demurrage, and detention charges (containerized shipments).
- Monitor and report Logistics issues and recommend counter measure.
- Freight forwarding and brokerage tracking and statistics.
- Be updated and knowledgeable to the definition of every term in International Commercial (Incoterms) published by International Chamber of Commerce.
- Keep proper records of all forms of transactions relating to logistics operations.
- Ensure all Department processes and procedures are up to date and implemented.
- Responsible for all departmental quality metrics and the achievement of set targets.
- Provide coaching and deliver performance reviews and identify the need for performance management intervention to address gaps.
- Engage with supervisory and line management across the organization and maintain high communication with direct reports and department leaders.
- Provide reports on performance and other key performance indicators to management.
- Ensure team and personal compliance with all company policies/rules and all violations are dealt with accordingly.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Has a minimum of 3+ years' experience in logistics/customs/brokerage/supply chain/engineering or similar.
- Familiarity with PEZA regulations, international trade, and customs law.
- Effective communication skills—written and spoken.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to set priorities when faced with multiple tasks.
- Excellent time management skills to always ensure efficiency in service delivery.
- Preferably a Licensed Customs Broker.
