Job Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will manage the purchasing process for goods and services needed by the organization. This includes sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining relationships, managing inventory, and ensuring that purchasing practices align with company goals and budgets. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills, with a keen eye for cost savings and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Supplier Management:

  • Research and identify potential suppliers and evaluate their performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality, price, and delivery requirements.

Purchasing and Order Management:

  • Issue purchase orders, monitor order fulfillment, and track deliveries.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and services within the company’s requirements.
  • Monitor and manage procurement activities to prevent delays in the supply chain.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of materials and goods purchased and monitor inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and other departments to ensure stock levels are maintained and materials are used efficiently.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Manage procurement budgets and help reduce costs through effective sourcing and vendor negotiations.
  • Track expenditures, prepare cost analysis, and monitor budgets to ensure compliance with financial targets.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and generate periodic reports for management.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve procurement processes for greater efficiency, cost savings, and service quality.
  • Implement best practices in procurement management and supply chain operations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, logistics) to ensure alignment of procurement goals with overall company objectives.
  • Communicate procurement needs clearly and effectively to both internal teams and external suppliers.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management is preferred.


Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Certifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous but not required.


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime


Supplemental Pay:

  • 13th month salary
  • Overtime pay
  • Quarterly bonus


Work Location: In person
