The Technical Supervisor oversees the technical team and ensures smooth execution of technical and sales-related tasks. This role bridges the gap between the sales and technical teams by assisting with pre-sales, gathering project requirements, and ensuring proper design and implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Team Supervision
- Leads and manages the technical team, including Support Engineer and Product Specialist.
- Assigns tasks, monitors progress, and evaluate team performance
- Trains team members on products, solutions, and industry standards.
Pre-Sales Support
- Collaborates with sales team during pre-sales engagement by:
- Attending client meetings to provide technical expertise.
- Conducting site surveys and feasibility assessments.
- Assisting in technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Ensures accurate scoping of project requirements based on client needs.
Project Conversion
- Translates client requirements into actionable designs and project plans.
- Oversees gathering of technical documents, such as plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Coordinates with clients and sales to ensure project designs align with expectations.
Project Execution
- Supervises and guides the team through the installation, configuration, and testing of automation solutions.
- Monitors timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure project success.
- Ensure proper documentation of all technical aspects of the project.
Technical Expertise & Process Improvement
- Develops standardized documentation for design and implementation workflows.
- Ensures all solutions meet technical and industry standards
- Continuously review and refine technical procedures for efficiency and quality.
Client Relationship Management
- Acts as a technical point of contact for clients during pre-sales and implementation phases.
- Addresses escalated technical issues and ensures client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or related technical field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in technical roles, including pre-sales activities.
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory or leadership position.
- Experience in automation, smart home systems, or system integration preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
- Expertise in project planning, technical design, and systems integration.
- Knowledge of automation protocols like KNX, Zigbee, or BACnet is a plus.
- Proficient in conducting site visits, designing workflows, and preparing technical reports.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system configurations and escalate issues when necessary.
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and sales teams effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical details into client-friendly information.
Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or KNX Certification is preferred
- Additional IoT or smart system certifications is a plus
